This paper attempts to account for the 8 days period in which Adolfo Rodríguez Saá took office and became President in December 2001. In this regard, I will analyze and cover thoroughly the dreadful days he had to endure while being the main focus of attention. his political agenda and his attempts to form a coalition and join allies will also be approached in this paper. Firstly, I will review the circumstances under which the Peronist Party took on Presidency right after the political standstill brought by the administration of the “Alianza”, by describing the many different stances taken within it, as well as those of the other parties involved. I will remark upon the pacts, terms and conditions that Rodríguez Saá had to comply with during the course of his presidency, in order to eventually put forward a detailed appraisal of his days as President. I will outline Saá’s political stakes, the allies he won, the means through which he attempted to evade existing commitments, as well as the powers of veto he came across, in an attempt to understand why he left office so abruptly and how the Peronist Party followed a different institutional path for transition, this time headed by Eduardo Duhalde. Finally, I will conclude this paper by exposing all the conclusions I have come to
