The Argentine Institute for Economic Development is a non-profit civil organization founded on August 3, 1961 in Buenos Aires Argentina, by a group of professors, professionals, technitians, cooperativists and business men.
Its objective is to analyze the Argentine social, cultural and political structure from a heterodox viewpoint the origins of which are the social sciences in a framework which is both regional and worldwide and elaborate proposals that can bring about a society that has justice for all with an equal distribution of wealth. The means to achieve this end are fundamentally the following:
. Teaching Activities: (workshops, seminars, meetings, talks) in Universities, businesses and professional places of work, with professors and investigators both Argentinian and foreign, organized individually or in cooperation with other academic institutions.
. Economic Reality-Magazine dedicated to the exploration of economic, political, social and cultural matters. It has been published without interruption since 1971 and it currently has a run of 6.000 issues.
The earnings of the Institution come from the fees paid for the courses, donations and subscriptions to the magazine.
It must also be pointed out that there have been more di-facto governments than democratic ones in our country since the IADE first came into being.that even the most difficult times of the military dictatorships it has always kept to a line of conduct linked to its commiment with the independent economic development of Argentina and the defense of human rights.
